Wedding Pics

Looking through the pictures on the CD we received from the photographer made me realize how much fun we had that morning and how much love was captured on the film. I like candid photos and not posey pictures because it captures individual personality. I think our photographer did a good job capturing the important moments. I make a lot of crazy faces, they were definitely throughout the film. HAHA. I'm glad I get to share this with you all. Enjoy.

p.s. I spritzed my locs with some water the night before my 6:30 am wedding, sponge rolled them and took them out at 5 in the morning. That's my hair look for the wedding pics. Once the sun rose it got really hot and all of my curls dropped.

A Fresh Start

This blog is dedicated to Becky. She reminded me that I have a blog and so I decided to post today.

It is August 6, 2010 and let me tell you what has been going on in my life. I got married, on my birthday (July 30) and my husband and I are buying a house. Pretty big steps. We started the home buying process before we got married knowing that we wanted to be married before we close on the house.
We found a lovely home with a privacy fenced in yard or the dogs to run around. I can't wait to move. We have essentially been packed up for a month now, we are just waiting on the sellers to finish some repairs so our loan can be underwritten. Living out of boxes is no fun. We are set to get the keys on Aug but I already know that's not gonna happen. It's looking more like the week of the 16th. Here is a picture of our new abode.

Enough about the house, lets talk about my wedding. My husband and I got married on a local beach at sunrise on my birthday. We didn't want to make a big deal of it so no one was invited. I curled up my locks, got a wedding dress and said I do. His aunt did surprise us and come down for support but we didn't have to babysit her or anything. We had a photographer take some pics and as soon as we get them I will post them up.

So now, I'm married and moving and must say that having Sisterlocks was the best investment EVER! If I had to worry about my hair everyday I would be so much more stressed out. I've been wearing them freestyled a lot more lately and just let them do their own thing. They have changed so much. I am coming up on my 7 month anniversary with them and they seem to be growing outward and not downward. I still have big hair. It's something I'm used to. Going to get them re-tightened every 5 weeks at $100 bucks is getting pretty old though. I thought that I would miss my afro, but that hasn't happened yet.

This blog is short and sweet but I will be making sure I update you guys more often.
