Just finished my first post. There will probably be a few more in the next couple of days to catch up to the present day but here it is.

I'm Changing My Blog Theme
Hello blog world... There's been so much happening in past few months that I've decided to change my blog over to document my new journey. My hair is fine...growing at an uncontrollable rate and I'm loving every second of the freedom. There isn't too much going on there anymore other than growth and retightenings so I decided to change my blog to focus on other things. This is a warning post. I haven't yet decided whether I'll just change it over on blogspot or just start a new one on wordpress or something. We'll see. The change is coming within the next week so keep your eyes open.

Long Time No Write
I can't remember when my last post was but I've been busy and have a lot to catch you up on.
Lost Loc
RIP little loc. To be perfectly clear this lock did not fall out of my head. I ripped it out on accident and boy did it hurt. I was pushing my hair out of my face and my finger got caught in my (untightened) roots. OWWWW! I was kinda sad and in mourning for a minute but then I realized that I didn't even notice it was missing.

Wine Tasting
Every year my school hosts a wine tasting at the local aquarium. Tons of fun. This year it was my duty not to get injured or end up in the ER with anyone else. Mission accomplished. We had a great time. Here are pics of me and Chef.

Zumba Instructor Training
After floating my liver, I had to attend my Zumba instructor training 2 days later. It was an all day (8-5:30) affair but I am now a licensed Zumba instructor. It felt like I burned 10,000 calories. I was exhausted! I think I start teaching this week which made me be on my grind today about my choreo. I want want to do fun music that makes you want to move! Here is a picture of me and my ZES (Zumba Education Specialist) after receiving my license.

From Day 1 to Year 1
The pic on the left is not actually day 1 but more like week 1 after my first wash. I personally thought that things haven't changed that much but apparently it has. The first picture was taken when my hair started to shrink. It is lengthening back out now. It is also a lot thicker than it was when I first got them installed. So, all in all, year one progress shows longer thicker locks. I don't think I can handle it if they get any thicker though. They are starting to hold a lot of water in the shower when I wash them.

Super Bowl Sunday!
YAY GREEN BAY!
OMG I hate the Steelers and I hate their fans even more.
On to the important stuff:
Here are pics of my hair prewash. Yes my hair is naturally very brown. I know. Boo.

And here it is post wash:

And here is my hair post re-ti. I'm so glad I can feel my scalp again!

The next post will be a comparison from day 1 to year 1.

One More Post...
Before the month is over. I'm kinda slacking about this blog but I promise to get better. My first lockaversary came and went. LAME SAUCE! I couldn't celebrate because I am in definite need of a re-ti. My loctician went out of town and now I am about 10 weeks in on my "re-ti every 5 week" schedule. UGH! Luckily I see her this Wed. and will promptly let her know that she will never leave me like that again without a decent option. I'm quite sure she will agree once she sees all the work she has to do. There is seriously a 2 inch afro under my locks. I can't run my finger through them without getting stuck. Here's the deal. I will not post any more half ass pics through my computer cam, but I will quickly need to find the charger for my camera battery. I want to show you how my hair looks before and after a re-ti. I wash it tomorrow so hopefully I can get you some good pics and do a progress post from day 1 to today.
Other shenanigans:
I'm becoming a Zumba instructor! YES! Once I stumbled upon Zumba in March of 2010 I have attended classes at least 3 times a week faithfully. It even got to the point where I was out of town and had to find a Zumba class in a different state. I am that serious about it. And because I am that serious, my instructors have encouraged me to become an instructor and I think I'm ready. Dilemma: I'm kinda shy but not really. I'll dance in front of a class but won't be as vocally interactive as I feel I should be... ODD. Whatever. I love Zumba and considered dropping out of the PhD program to pursue it full time. JK. I have to finish my degree. I'm almost done.
I guess that's it for now. The search is seriously on for my camera battery charger.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Better late than never right?
Big things are happening in 2011.
Let's begin with the holidays...
X-mas: I got the Zumba game for my Wii. I LOVE IT! I got Chef a Meyer Lemon Tree and the appropriate citrus gardening books. I also spruced up his wardrobe with some really nice button downs.
New Years: Chef's cousin and girlfriend came down to celebrate the coming of the new year with us. We had a blast.
Upcoming things: I am getting certified to teach Zumba fitness classes in Feb. I think going to school to get my PhD has unleashed my new passion to be a Zumba Instructor. HAHA
My loctician went out of town ya'll. My last re-ti was the week before Thanksgiving and I'm on a 5 week schedule. The shenanigans going on in my head are pretty serious. I need to call her on an emergency basis so that I can know when she will be back in the salon so I can be the first person in the chair.
